Ex- Physician Faces Assault Charges Against Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care
Prosecutors have stated that a ex- doctor now faces charges for carrying out sexual assaults involving thirty-eight individuals who were under his care.
The Serious Allegations
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of numerous acts of sexual assault – including some against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.
A deputy chief CPS official commented, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to assist a detailed and complex investigation, meticulously examining the available evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
The Investigation
These allegations come after what police described as a “detailed inquiry” into reported sexual offences at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital.
Spencer is due to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.

Prosecutors outline the 45 charges include:
- Fifteen counts of assault.
- 17 counts of penetrative assault.
- 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.
