Iranian Forces State Strike on US Base in the Kingdom of Bahrain, During Regional Counterattacks.

Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Bahrain, as Iran launched strikes throughout the Middle East in response for a significant and ongoing attack against it by the United States and Israeli forces.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an vicinity in the area of the main base of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any impact is uncertain and the US has remained silent.

Airspace Engagements

Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - said they have shot down incoming projectiles in their air space.

In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry announced it had successfully engaged several missiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the region.

Iran's Declared Retaliation

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared it was striking US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the attack on the Islamic Republic initiated by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.

That US-Israeli operation - launched at around 06:15 GMT - has so far targeted sites linked to the the regime, with US President Donald Trump urging the people of Iran to rise up against the leadership.

Wider Impacts

In Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israeli military reported it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates announced that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems dealt with the missiles with great effectiveness and shot down a several projectiles," it added.

The statement noted wreckage fell on a neighborhood in the capital, causing some property damage and killing a civilian.

The United States Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
